Outfits for women with boots
Get a head start into the western trend of fall by styling a pair of cowboy ankle boots with a long-sleeved dress.

Not surprisingly, some women shy away from boots with dresses. The perception of boots as informal and dresses as formal leads one to think more about jeans and casual pants when considering what they combine with boots. However, the reality is that you are dressing your favorite boots with dresses and skirts to take advantage of new ways to use what's already in your closet. If you buy your own wardrobe like a store, you can use it to expand your modem options.

Why does the look work?
Of course, the most important fashion rule is to wear whatever you want and make you feel good - but there are a few reasons that make wearing boots with dresses a great idea:

It is flattering. Depending on the type of boots, this may be the most flattering combination you'll ever wear. This is especially true for tall boots that create a long, sleek, contiguous look. Women who are self-conscious with their legs find that mid-calf, knee-high boots and over-the-knee boots wear skirts and dresses that they may not feel comfortable with.
It's a great alternative to other boat accent options. Let's face it: skinny jeans are not very nice for many of us, and some occasions are simply not suitable for leggings. However, there are so many styles of dresses that there are options for every type of figure, and many work well with boots.
It's fun to wear. The right combination of boots and garment - whether elegant or casual - makes for a chic, polished, confident look that makes wearing very addictive. Once you see how fashionable you look, you might wonder how you ever got along without connecting the two.
Do the dress-boat combination right
To find out which mating looks and feels best for you, this is usually a matter of experimentation. Here are a few suggestions to get you started.

Just hold it
For a light look that is suitable for just about anyone, combine a simple dress - like a sweater dress, a wrap dress or even a long tunic - with a pair of sleek, large, flat boots. If you like tights or extravagant stockings, add them for a bit of pizzas, but skip really trendy boot styles and anything too defined. For example, a halter dress on a pair of cowboy boots is too fussy for this look. Apart from that, the simple approach is virtually foolproof.

Stay in balance
Try a half and a half approach: half of an elegant outfit, paired with something more casual; half ruffled with a little more utensil; or half glamorous with something really simple. Just say "no" to cowboy boots and sexy dresses, as both articles are under the attention heading. A pretty cocktail dress with a few simple boots or a pair of western boots with a simple but feminine dress may work.
